I created a short video of some of the sights visited during the pre-conference field trip for the Geoscience Research Institute (GRI) 2026 “Your Wondrous Works” Conference for NAD Science Professors, which I was graciously enabled to attend and present at thanks to GRI. Each location visited in Eastern Washington State serves as a geological reminder that there is real evidence for catastrophic floods (and lava flows). The rock observed is primarily Columbia River Basalt, which was formed from massive lava flows. The basalt was then carved out by the raging waters of the Missoula Flood during the Ice Age.
